Shawna Nelles, originally from Canada, is an independent photographer and visual/multimedia artist living in Mexico City. She is co-founder and General Director at Dfectuoso Producciones, a contemporary circus production company in Mexico City.  She has been photographing professionally for 10 years, and was Creative Director at MuseEddy Creative Agency, Montreal for five years before moving to Mexico.

Recent editorial photos have been published by National Geographic Education, United Nations CEPAL, Global Press Institute, Rainforest Action Network, Megaphone Magazine, Change.org, Brooklyn Rail NY, Festival Extremadura, OverlandingAfrica.com, International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI Clippings) and USAID. Her coverage of Mexico’s Bicentennial celebrations can be found in the book “Memorias del Bicentenario”. Editorial & performance arts photography have been exhibited in Canada & Mexico.

Shawna designs and provides image & marketing consulting for small business, non-profits and the arts.
